Meet Dingy O'Rielly (aka Russ Quinn) -- a character from my novel, "Because We Could: An Unauthorized Love Story".
One of the joys of writing a book (especially a Memoir), is the serendipitous re-connecting with the characters. Thirty-five years after the adventure, Russ Quinn and I found each other on Facebook!
You may remember that he was David's in-house artist for Crazy David T-shirts Corp. back in the '70's. He was an amazing artist with a great sense of humor.

Russ joined us onboard Sondra II as our taxi driver for the ship-to-shore dingy just before "The Bum's Cruise to the Bahamas" He had a lot of surprising adventures, that boy!

Russ now lives in Eastern Canada - just a stone's throw from The Bay of Fundy where we experienced the crossing from hell!

Although, having limped across the Gulf stream on Sondra with only one engine functioning and her generator featuring a nylon stocking as a belt, I know this was not the only obstacle Sondra endured.
